My topic is research
based on the chocolate industry in Canada. The two brands that I have compared
are ferrerr rocher and toblerone. Based on the result from Google Trends I can
see that for majority of the time Ferrero rocher has a higher interest compared
to Toblerone. The time period that shows I think is also significant because of
the holiday season the sample size for the month is more valuable when
regarding interest. In correspondence with our search of Chocolate stores it
seems that there is a growing interest in finding stores that sell different
types of chocolate. With Various types of chocolate that exist there aren’t
many specialized chocolate stores which is what could be the big drive in
interest.

Summary:
Based on the results I
can see that Ferrero Rocher is currently on the right strack with SEO and being
on social media as Toblerone currently is not. Toblerone has very little
interaction from shares, likes, and even key words that will help with search
engines. Ferrero Rocher’s strengths really come from its ability to interact
through shares likes and pictures taken from their consumers and used on their
home page. Toblerone’s only strong point would come from their use of images,
being high quality and very clear. Both Toblerone and Ferrero’s websites are
mobile friendly which is useful for data users. In terms of improvement both
websites home page could have used a lot more text for key words. There was
very limited use of any text or information. Toblerone’s Website speed was also
a bit slow which could turn away any points of interest if the page takes too
long to load. Toblerone’s lack of social media presence or interaction was very
disappointing and should heavily be looked at.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, we can
see the importance of the companies presence through websites. Search engines
are very important in exposing your brand to the masses of people. Google is
one of the great examples in the importance of search optimization. There are many
small things within coding and keywords that make the biggest difference in
putting the brand out there.
In comparison to
Toblerone , I think the clear winner would be Ferrero rocher in terms of search
engine optimization. They had used a lot more keywords which allows for
exposure to their site. They offer an interaction level through social media,
likes and shares that toblerone has not. Ferrero’s website has been far more
reviewed than toblerone and is evident through the statistics of our SEO Audit.
